Media in my Life

Media is everywhere we look these days, whether it be in our home on the TV or we are scrolling through our phones, media has been able to infiltrate all aspects of the modern day life.

For myself, something that has become very apparent due to not having a tv at home, most of my media comes from my phone, computer or being in a public space where there are TVs, primarily coming from my phone. As millennials, we are constantly on social media, whether it be Instagram, Facebook, Youtube or any other online platform. Media has been able to surround us and in my eyes, this can be a good and a bad thing. Media can be very subjective and we as the consumer must understand that not everything that is shown through the media is right or in the right context. We must understand that we must do our own research before believing everything that the media is saying. The facts may be misleading, untrue or it could be presented by a specific company that is trying to persuade the readers into thinking a certain way. One thing that I like to do is to keep in mind is that there are many beliefs and reasons things can happen and we must educate ourselves to be able to completely understand what the media is promoting.
