I always felt I had a strong grasp on the new media landscape and its effects on us as society however, going through this course has either pointed out concepts I had never thought about or emphasized other concepts that I was unsure of. A couple of units particularly stood out after re reading this blog post about traditional media vs new media that I have outlined below. As traditional media grows into new media, understanding the audiences is something that became easier and more clear. What this does it it allows advertisers to have a clear picture of who they are targeting and who their audiences are. Through this they are able to create ads within a specific criteria that will resonate with their audience. In the past with traditional media, it was hard for advertisers to understand their audience and or to even gauge who was receiving their ads.
